FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things most business owners want to know before their first conversation. If something isn't covered here, the Audit is the fastest way to get a direct answer.

Getting Started

What happens on the Business Audit?

It's a free 20-minute call. We map where manual processes are consuming your team's time, where slow lead response is leaving revenue uncaptured, and what your current setup is actually capable of. You receive a Diagnostic Report the same day: a plain-English breakdown of the gaps, what they're costing, and what fixing them would look like.

Come with a rough sense of your weekly hours across admin, sales, and customer service, and your lead volume and conversion rate. That's all the preparation required.

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

UK businesses from 1 to 200 employees, across any sector. What they share isn't an industry: it's an operational pattern. Manual processes that shouldn't require the people doing them, leads going cold before anyone responds, and an owner making every decision while spending time on work the business should be doing automatically.

If that pattern sounds familiar, the Audit will confirm whether there's a fit.

How do I know which outcome is right for my business?

That's what the Audit is for. We look at where time is being lost and where revenue is leaking, then recommend the outcome with the strongest return for your specific situation. You don't need to arrive knowing which system you need.

A rough sense of your weekly hours, your lead volume, how quickly you currently follow up, and how many enquiries convert is enough to make the conversation immediately useful.

How It Works

How quickly does something actually go live?

The first automation — a defined Quick Win chosen because it produces the clearest and most immediate result — goes live within 48 to 72 hours of onboarding. The full system follows within 10 days.

The Audit determines where to start: the automation with the fastest, most visible return for your specific setup.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

There's no technical involvement required on your side. Your job is to attend the Audit, complete a short onboarding questionnaire, and approve deliverables before they go live. CE Optimisation handles the architecture, build, testing, and deployment, and monitors everything once it's running.

You get the output. The infrastructure stays with us.

What do you need from me during the build?

Beyond attending the Audit, you complete a two-page questionnaire once you've signed and approve deliverables before they go live. CE Optimisation handles everything else: architecture, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.

The questionnaire is the only additional preparation required.

Who actually builds and delivers the work?

James and Dan build and deliver everything. Every client works directly with the two founders, from the first conversation through to handover. Delivery isn't passed to a junior team once a contract is signed.

Investment

How do I know it's worth it before I commit to anything?

The Diagnostic Report is built entirely from your own numbers. On the Audit call, we map your weekly time allocation and your lead flow. From those figures, we calculate what the current inefficiencies are costing and what closing them would be worth. The report puts both figures side by side: what the gap is costing each month and what a one-time build would require to close it.

The decision tends to be clearer once you're looking at the same numbers we are, and all of this is in front of you before a build fee is quoted or a contract is signed. After onboarding, the Quick Win is live within 48 to 72 hours: a working automation producing a visible result before the majority of the build is even complete.

What does it cost?

The Audit is free. Build fees are calculated from your business's own numbers: your annual revenue and the systems the Diagnostic Report identifies as the right fit. You receive the full investment figure in the report before committing to anything.

The monthly retainer covers ongoing monitoring, optimisation, one change request per month, and the platform costs of running your automations. CE Optimisation isn't a software licence you're paying for access to. The retainer covers the management of systems already working on your behalf.

Is there a long contract?

There's no long-term commitment. The minimum retainer period is three months, which is enough time for the systems to bed in and produce something measurable. After that, you're not tied in.

Results & Fit

What if it doesn't work?

For time-recovery outcomes — Workflow Automation, Smart Scheduling, and Document Intelligence — there's a 90-day conditional guarantee: if the agreed target isn't met, we continue work at no additional build fee until it is. For other outcomes, there's a 14-day unconditional refund window.

The specific terms that apply to your engagement are confirmed in writing before anything begins.

How is this different from buying automation software myself?

Tools like Zapier or Make.com are platforms. Building a working automation requires you to design the logic, connect the integrations, test the workflows, and maintain them when something changes. CE Optimisation handles all of that.

You get the result, not a platform to produce it yourself.

The Audit is free. It's a 20-minute call — we look at your numbers, not a sales deck.

If nothing comes of it, the only thing spent is 20 minutes.
